About Our Cleaning Company in Romford
Cleaning Romford is a local cleaning company for homes, rented properties and workplaces across Romford and the wider RM area. We’re vetted, insured and practical. We agree what matters to you before we start, clean to that list, and check the work before we leave.
This page covers who comes into your property, how we decide what gets cleaned, what we bring, and what happens if something isn’t right.
Who we clean for across Romford and the RM postcodes
Most of our work comes from a few kinds of customer:
- Busy households in Gidea Park, Collier Row, Harold Wood and Hornchurch who want the kitchen, bathrooms and floors kept on top of without giving up a weekend.
- Tenants and landlords around Romford town centre, Rush Green and Chadwell Heath who need a property ready for an inventory check or a new let.
- Homeowners after building work, where fine plaster and sanding dust has settled on every ledge, skirting board and light switch.
- Shops, offices and small businesses that need cleaning done before opening, after closing, or around staff who are still working.
Our cleaning services cover RM postcodes including Romford, Harold Hill, Emerson Park, Elm Park and Upminster. If you’re on the edge of the area, send us your postcode and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can fit you in.
How we decide what gets cleaned on your visit
We don’t promise every task on every visit, and we’d be suspicious of anyone who does. A two-hour regular clean in a three-bedroom semi can’t include the inside of the oven, the fridge, every window and the skirting boards. If we pretend otherwise, something gets rushed.
So we agree priorities first. For a regular clean, that might be:
- Kitchen worktops, hob, sink and the front of the appliances
- Bathrooms, including limescale on taps and the shower screen
- Hoovering and mopping the main floors
- Dusting reachable surfaces and emptying bins
- A rotating extra each visit, such as the inside of the microwave or one room’s skirting boards
Deep cleans, oven interiors, carpet extraction, high-level work and external windows are quoted separately. That way you know what you’re paying for, and the cleaner knows exactly what’s expected. You can see the full process on our how it works page.
Who comes into your home or workplace
Our cleaners are vetted and insured. Before anyone works for us, we check identity and right to work in the UK and take up references. We also have a proper conversation with them about how they work. Being good at cleaning your own house isn’t the same as cleaning someone else’s to an agreed standard.
How we train cleaners for real properties
New cleaners learn our methods before they go out on their own. That covers the habits that separate a professional clean from a quick tidy:
- Top to bottom, dry to wet. Dust the shelves before hoovering the floor, not after.
- Separate cloths for separate jobs. The cloth used on a toilet never goes near a kitchen worktop.
- Right product, right surface. Acidic limescale removers can etch marble and natural stone. Bleach can mark some fabrics and finishes. Abrasive pads scratch stainless steel and glass hobs.
- Dwell time matters. A spray that’s wiped off straight away hasn’t had the time to do its job.
- Check before you leave. Walk the job against the agreed list, not from memory.
We also brief cleaners on each property: where the keys are, which room is out of bounds, whether there’s a cat that mustn’t get out, and which floor is real oak.
Our cleaning standards in Romford: what “done” looks like
A clean only counts as finished when it matches what we agreed. Our standards are specific, because vague ones are easy to fall short of.
- Kitchens: no grease film on the hob or splashback, crumbs cleared from toaster and cupboard edges, sink and taps polished rather than just rinsed.
- Bathrooms: limescale tackled on taps, shower heads and screens, the toilet cleaned including the base and behind the seat hinges, mirrors without streaks.
- Floors: hoovered into corners and along skirting, hard floors mopped with a product suited to the finish.
- Workplaces: desks and keyboards wiped where agreed, kitchen areas and washrooms cleaned, fingerprints removed from glass doors, bins emptied and relined.
Cleaning can’t fix wear or damage. Old carpet stains, worn worktops and chipped enamel may improve, but they won’t look new. We’ll tell you that upfront rather than after the visit.
Our approach to quality control
Every visit finishes with a check against the agreed tasks. Our cleaners go room by room before they leave, and on larger jobs such as end of tenancy or after builders cleans, that check is more detailed.
If something in scope has been missed, contact us promptly with a photo if you can, and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm how any re-clean works, and how soon you need to report an issue, when you book. That way nobody is arguing about it afterwards.
For regular customers, feedback shapes the next visit. If you’d rather we spent less time on the spare room and more on the kitchen, tell us and we’ll update the list.
Equipment and products we use
We bring cleaning supplies and equipment unless we’ve agreed otherwise. That usually means:
- Hoovers with suitable attachments for edges, stairs and upholstery
- Microfibre cloths, colour-coded by area
- Mops and buckets suited to the type of floor
- Degreasers for kitchens, descalers for bathrooms and neutral cleaners for delicate surfaces
- Extendable dusters for cornicing and the tops of wardrobes
Specialist jobs need specialist kit. Carpet and upholstery extraction, for example, uses machinery that isn’t part of a standard visit.
If you’d like us to use your own products, perhaps because something in the house reacts badly to certain chemicals, just say so. Tell us about delicate materials, allergies or pets before the visit and we’ll plan around them.
Environmental policy in Romford: greener cleaning that still works
We’d rather use the right amount of product than a lot of it. Over-spraying wastes product, leaves residue that attracts dirt, and can irritate skin and lungs.
Our day-to-day approach:
- Microfibre first. Good microfibre lifts a lot of everyday dirt with water alone or a light cleaner.
- Measured dilution. Concentrates are mixed to the manufacturer’s instructions, not by guesswork.
- Reusable cloths laundered between jobs instead of disposable wipes.
- Eco-friendly products on request, with suitability checked for each surface. Some plant-based cleaners struggle with heavy grease or limescale, so we’ll be honest about where they work well and where they don’t.
If sustainability matters to you, have a look at our eco cleaning service and mention it when you ask for a quote.
Health and safety in Romford homes and workplaces
Cleaning chemicals are safe when they’re used properly and risky when they aren’t. Our cleaners follow a few firm rules:
- Never mix products, especially bleach with acids or ammonia-based cleaners.
- Keep products in labelled containers and out of reach of children and pets.
- Ventilate rooms when using stronger cleaners, particularly in bathrooms with no window.
- Wear gloves, and eye protection where the product calls for it.
- Use the right steps or extension pole for height, rather than standing on chairs.
- Put out wet floor signs in workplaces and communal areas.
For commercial premises, we’ll ask about fire exits, alarm codes, out-of-hours access and any site rules before the first visit. You can read how our cover works, and how to request details, on our insurance page.
Company values and service promises
We keep our promises to things we can actually deliver:
- Agreed upfront. You’ll know the scope, price and any extras before work starts. Quotes are free and there’s no obligation.
- Honest about limits. We won’t promise to remove every stain, guarantee a deposit return or claim a clean will pass any inspection. We’ll clean thoroughly to the agreed checklist and tell you where wear or damage is likely to show.
- Careful with access. Key handling, alarm codes and arrival times are agreed in advance, from keys left with a neighbour in Harold Wood to meeting us at a shop in South Street.
- Respectful of your property. We protect surfaces, close gates behind us and leave things where we found them.
- Responsive when something’s wrong. Tell us and we’ll deal with it properly.
Short-notice bookings depend on availability. We’ll always tell you straight whether we can do it rather than squeeze a job in and rush it.
Talk to a local Romford cleaning team
The quickest way to get an accurate price is to tell us about the property. Send the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the kind of clean you need, the current condition, your preferred dates and how we’ll get in. For one-off jobs, a few photos of the kitchen and bathroom help a lot. Commercial work may need a short walkthrough.
