Cleaning service FAQs in Romford – quotes, keys and supplies

Cleaning Service FAQs in Romford

These are the cleaning service FAQs we hear most often in Romford: what to send for a quote, who brings the products, how keys are handled and what happens if something gets missed. If your question isn’t here, call us on 01708 204 312 or email info@cleaning-romford.co.uk and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Booking and quotes

How do I get a quote, and what should I send?

Send us the basics and we’ll come back with a free, no-obligation quote. The more we know at the start, the fewer surprises later. Useful details include:

  • Property type and size, for example a two-bed flat off South Street or a four-bed semi in Gidea Park
  • The type of clean, such as regular, one-off, deep or end of tenancy
  • Any extras, such as the oven interior, carpets, inside the fridge or internal windows
  • Current condition, including a few photos of the kitchen and bathroom for one-off jobs
  • Preferred dates and how we’ll get in

You can use our quick quote form or phone us. Commercial premises sometimes need a short walkthrough first, so we can see the floor space, the washrooms and any restricted areas.

What decides the price?

We look at property size, condition, the tasks you want, how often you’d like us and access. A flat cleaned weekly takes less time per visit than the same flat after six months without a proper clean. We agree the scope and price upfront, before any work starts. Any extras are added only once you’ve said yes.

Do you cover cleaning services in all RM postcodes?

We work across Romford and the wider RM area, including Collier Row, Harold Wood, Harold Hill, Hornchurch, Upminster, Rush Green and Chadwell Heath. Coverage on the edges of the area can depend on the job and our schedule. Send your postcode with your enquiry and we’ll confirm before you book.

How long does a regular clean take?

It depends on the size of the home and what’s on the priorities list. A one-bed flat kept on top of weekly needs much less time than a busy family house with a dog, two bathrooms and a playroom. We’ll estimate the time when we quote. The first visit often runs longer while we bring everything up to a standard that’s easier to maintain.

Products and equipment

Do your cleaners bring their own supplies?

Yes. We bring cleaning products and equipment unless we’ve agreed something different with you. That covers the everyday kit: microfibre cloths, separate cloths for bathrooms and kitchens, a vacuum, mops and suitable products for most surfaces.

If you’d rather we used your own vacuum or a particular product, tell us when you book. Some clients prefer this for allergy reasons, or because they’ve already bought the right cleaner for an expensive floor.

Can you use eco-friendly products, or products I already have?

Yes, eco-friendly options are available on request. We’ll still check each product suits the surface. A natural product isn’t automatically safe on everything. Vinegar-based cleaners, for example, can etch marble and some natural stone worktops.

Please tell us about the following before the visit:

  • Natural stone, unsealed wood, high-gloss units or anything you’re unsure about
  • Allergies or sensitivities in the household
  • Products you don’t want used at all

Access, keys and pets

Do I need to be at home during the clean?

No. Plenty of our Romford clients are at work or on the school run when we visit. We agree access, key handling and arrival arrangements in advance. Options might be a key safe, a spare key left with a neighbour or a concierge in a block near the station. Tell us about alarm codes, parking and any tricky entry systems so the cleaner isn’t stuck outside a communal door.

For first visits, some clients like to be home for ten minutes to show us around and point out priorities. That’s always welcome.

What if I have pets?

That’s no problem, as long as we know beforehand. Tell us what pets you have, whether they’re friendly with visitors and whether any rooms should stay shut. Cats sneaking out of open doors is a real risk, so let us know if certain doors must stay closed. Pet hair on sofas and stairs takes extra time, so mention it when you ask for a quote.

Preparing for your clean

How do I prepare for a deep clean?

A little preparation means we spend your time cleaning, not moving things. Before a deep clean:

  1. Clear the worktops as far as you can, so we can get into corners and behind appliances.
  2. Empty any cupboards you want cleaned inside. We can’t wipe out a cupboard full of tins.
  3. Pick up clutter, such as toys, clothes and paperwork, from floors and surfaces.
  4. Point out problem areas, such as limescale on the shower screen, a greasy extractor hood or mould on the bathroom sealant.
  5. Mention anything fragile or anything that shouldn’t be moved.

Some marks are set in, such as old limescale, scorched hob rings and stained grout. We’ll improve them as much as the surface safely allows, but we won’t promise a mark will disappear completely.

What’s included in a regular clean?

Regular visits follow a priorities list we agree with you. A typical list covers kitchen surfaces and the outside of appliances, bathrooms and toilets, dusting, vacuuming, mopping and emptying bins. Some tasks need more time or different equipment, so we quote them separately. These include oven interiors, carpet extraction, high-level work and external windows. Our cleaning checklist shows how routine, deep and tenancy cleans differ.

Will an end of tenancy clean get my deposit back?

No cleaner can honestly guarantee that, and we won’t. What we do is work to a room-by-room checklist based on your inventory or the agent’s cleaning requirements. Send it to us when you book end of tenancy cleaning. Cleaning can’t fix wear, damage, scuffed paintwork or a burn in the carpet. Book us after your belongings are out, because empty rooms and cupboards clean far better.

Changes, payments and problems

What’s your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Let us know as early as you can. A cleaner’s day is planned around set visits, so early notice usually means we can find you another slot. We’ll confirm any notice terms and charges for late cancellations when you book, so you’ll know where you stand before the first visit. Short-notice slots depend on availability and we can’t guarantee them.

How do payments and receipts work?

We’ll explain how and when to pay when we confirm your booking, so there’s no confusion on the day. If you need a receipt or invoice, for a landlord, your business or your own records, just ask and we’ll provide one. For commercial clients we can agree invoicing arrangements as part of the quote.

What if I’m not satisfied with the clean?

Tell us promptly. Our cleaners finish each visit with a check against the agreed tasks. If something in scope has been missed, such as a skirting board left dusty or a mirror still smeared, contact us and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm re-clean eligibility and how soon you need to report an issue when you book. Photos help us see exactly what’s wrong and send the right person back.

Will I get the same cleaner each time?

We aim to keep the same cleaner on regular bookings where we can. They learn your home, your priorities and where the hoover lives. Holidays and sickness happen, so if someone else covers a visit, they’ll work from the same agreed priorities list.

Are your cleaners vetted and insured?

Yes. Our cleaners are vetted and insured. If you need cover details for a landlord, managing agent or workplace, ask when you book and we’ll explain what’s in place.
