Oven Cleaning Service in Romford (RM)
If your oven door has gone brown, the racks are crusted, or the extractor fan smells of last week’s fry-up, our oven cleaning service in Romford gets it back to a state you’re happy to cook in. We take the oven apart, degrease the inside, the door glass, the racks and the trays, and can do the hob and extractor on the same visit. We cover homes and lettings across RM, from a single built-in oven to a double range cooker. Send us a photo of the oven and the make or model if you know it, and we’ll come back with a free quote.

What we clean inside and around your oven
A proper oven clean means taking the oven apart. Wiping the inside of the door isn’t enough. On a standard visit we:
- Remove racks, shelf runners and trays and soak them in a degreasing solution, then scrub off baked-on carbon
- Take the door glass apart where the design allows, so we can clean the grease and drips trapped between the inner panes
- Degrease the oven cavity, including the roof, back panel and the corners where fat collects around the fan cover
- Clean the fan cover and grill element area by hand, keeping clear of wiring and seals
- Wipe the door seal gently without stretching or soaking it
- Clean the control panel, handles and the outside of the oven
- Rinse and dry everything, then refit it all and check the door closes and the shelves slide properly
Single, double and range ovens
A single built-in oven is the simplest job. A double oven has a second cavity, usually a top oven with a grill, and the grill pan often takes as long as the main oven racks. Range cookers have more cavities, more glass and wider hobs, so we price them according to how many there are. When you enquire, tell us which type you have.
Hob cleaning
We clean all hob types, but each one needs a different method:
- Ceramic and induction glass: we lift burnt-on spills with a hob scraper held flat, then use a hob-safe cleaner. We don’t use scouring pads, because they scratch the glass and the scratches can’t be removed.
- Gas hobs: we remove the pan supports, burner caps and spreaders, clean them separately, and make sure they’re dry and seated correctly before you light the hob again.
- Solid plate and older electric hobs: we clean the surround and edges and treat the plates themselves with care.
Extractor and cooker hood cleaning
We remove metal grease filters from the hood and degrease them, and we clean the hood’s canopy, underside and light covers. Charcoal (carbon) filters can’t be cleaned, only replaced. If yours are due for a change, we’ll tell you so you can order the right part.
Combining your oven clean with a full kitchen clean
Many Romford customers book the oven alongside a wider kitchen cleaning visit. The oven is usually what’s making the rest of the kitchen greasy, so this order makes sense. We clean the oven first, then the worktops, splashback, tiles, cupboard fronts, sink and floor. That way grease from the oven doesn’t end up on surfaces we’ve already finished.
If you want the inside of the cupboards cleaned, please empty them before we arrive. We can clean round a full cupboard, but we can’t clean inside it properly.
Moving out? Book the oven early
The oven is one of the first things an inventory clerk opens at check-out. If you’re leaving a rented property, we can include the oven in a full end of tenancy clean or book it as a separate visit. Send us your agent’s cleaning requirements if you have them and we’ll work to them. Cleaning can’t fix chipped enamel, a cracked door panel or a warped tray, and nobody can promise a deposit outcome. What we can do is make sure the oven isn’t the item that gets marked down for grease.
Products: standard, non-caustic and eco options
We bring all the products and equipment. For most ovens we use heavy-duty degreasers suited to the surface, and we always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and the product’s dwell times.
If you’d prefer non-caustic oven cleaning products, perhaps because you have young children, pets or sensitive skin in the house, ask when you book. Eco-friendly options are available on request. Heavy carbon can take more time and effort with gentler products, and we check each product suits your oven before we use it.
There are some surfaces we treat differently:
- Catalytic liners (the rough, self-cleaning panels on some ovens) mustn’t be scrubbed or sprayed with strong degreasers. We work around them or clean them only in the way the manufacturer allows.
- Pyrolytic ovens clean themselves with high heat. We’ll clean the door, seals, racks and runners, and avoid putting products on the enamel that could react when it reaches pyrolytic temperatures.
- Stainless steel fronts are wiped with the grain to avoid streaks and fine scratches.
What we don’t cover, and when cleaning won’t help
Some problems need a repair rather than a clean. We’ll tell you honestly if that’s the case:
- Damaged enamel, discolouration from years of high heat, or marks etched into the surface won’t come out with cleaning. We’ll lift what we can, but we don’t promise every stain will go.
- Faulty elements, fans, thermostats or door hinges need an appliance engineer. We don’t do electrical or gas work.
- Broken door seals or cracked glass should be replaced, not cleaned.
- Ducting behind an extractor hood and anything that involves taking apart built-in units is outside our scope.
- Commercial kitchen equipment is quoted separately. Ask us about restaurant cleaning if you run a food business.
How an oven clean works
- Send us the details. Tell us the oven type, the make if you know it, whether you want the hob and extractor done too, and send a couple of photos of the inside and the racks.
- We agree the job and the price. We confirm what’s included and the price before we start. No surprises on the day.
- Prepare the kitchen. Please switch the oven off well before we arrive so it’s completely cold. Clear the worktop next to it, and take out anything you store inside the oven or the drawer underneath.
- We clean. We protect the floor and nearby units, take the oven apart, clean it and put it back together.
- Final check. We go through the agreed list with you, or send photos if you’re out. If anything in scope has been missed, let us know promptly and we’ll arrange to put it right. We’ll confirm how re-cleans work when you book.
How long does oven cleaning take?
A single oven in average condition usually takes a couple of hours. A double oven, a heavily carbonised oven, or one booked with the hob and extractor will take longer. Range cookers can take most of a morning. We’ll give you a better estimate once we’ve seen your photos. You can normally use the oven again once it’s reassembled and dry.
What affects the price
We base the price of oven cleaning on:
- The oven type: single, double or range, and how many cavities and glass panels it has
- Condition: a light annual clean is a different job from years of carbon build-up
- Extras: hob, extractor hood and filters, microwave, or a full kitchen clean
- Products: non-caustic or eco products can add time on heavily soiled ovens
- Access and parking: flats without lifts or streets with restricted parking can affect the time we need
We often cover more than one oven in a building on the same visit, which is helpful for landlords with several properties across RM.
Keys, pets and access around Romford
You don’t need to stay in the house. Lots of customers leave a key with a neighbour or in a key safe, or tell us the agent’s office arrangements for a vacant let. We agree all of this before the visit. Please keep pets out of the kitchen while we work, because we have racks soaking and degreasers in use. If you’re in a flat near the town centre or on a road with permit parking, tell us where we can unload, as we bring a fair amount of kit.
What customers say
“The racks hadn’t been out of the oven since we moved in, and they came back looking like new ones. The glass in the door was the biggest change. I didn’t know you could get between the panes.” Hannah R., Gidea Park, oven cleaning
“I booked the oven, hob and hood before our inventory check. Our key was left with the agent and I got photos afterwards. The extractor filters were really bad and they’re clean now.” Tom W., Harold Wood, end of tenancy oven clean
“I asked for non-caustic products because of the kids. It took a bit longer than I expected but there was no chemical smell when we cooked dinner, which was what I wanted.” Sadia K., Collier Row, oven and kitchen clean
“They were honest that the marks on the base were burnt into the enamel. Everything else came up well.” Gary P., Hornchurch, double oven cleaning
Oven cleaning FAQs
Do I need to be at home? No. Plenty of customers leave a key or arrange access with a neighbour or agent. We agree this before the visit.
Can you clean a double oven and a grill on the same visit? Yes. We clean both cavities, the grill pan and its rack, and all the glass. Just tell us when you book that it’s a double oven so we allow enough time.
Will the oven smell of chemicals afterwards? It shouldn’t. We rinse the cavity and parts thoroughly before reassembling. If you’d like gentler products, ask for our non-caustic option.
Can you remove every mark? Not always. Fresh grease and most carbon will come off, but heat damage, etched enamel and worn coatings are permanent. We’ll tell you what to expect after looking at your photos.
Do you clean the inside of microwaves too? Yes, as an extra. Let us know when you book and we’ll add it to the agreed list.
Is oven cleaning included in your regular cleaning visits? No. Oven interiors aren’t part of a routine visit. We quote them separately, so you can add an oven clean every few months.
Do you work across the whole of Romford? Yes, we cover Romford and the surrounding RM area. Get in touch with your postcode and we’ll confirm.
